Nexxyo Labs, Human AI and DATAI, Los Jabones de Montse, Mutua Navarra and Once, winners of the IRIS Digitalisation Awards

The company Nexxyo Labs, the Human AI and DATAI project, the shop Los jabones de Montse, Mutua Navarra and the Once delegation in Navarra have this morning won the first IRIS Awards for Digitalisation, granted by the regional government with the collaboration of the Navarra Foundation for Excellence to distinguish the best initiatives and projects in this field.

The awards, for which 61 candidates were eligible, were presented this morning at a ceremony held at the Pamplona/Iruña Planetarium with the participation of the Regional Ministers of University, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Juan Cruz Cigudosa García, and of Industry and Ecological and Digital Business Transformation, Mikel Irujo Amezaga. The master of ceremonies of the gala was DIGITALIX23, a robot that chatted with SIRI to the surprise of the more than 150 people attending the event, an act that combined both people and technology with the aim of humanising the latter.

In his speech, Mr Cigudosa highlighted the importance of digitalisation, stressing that "we live in an increasingly connected world, where technology is the cornerstone for the growth and competitiveness of companies, organisations and society as a whole". In addition, Juan Cruz Cigudosa stressed at the opening of the event the "ambitious" approach of the IRIS Digital Innovation Hub and highlighted its mission to "meet the needs of companies and individuals with the aim of creating quality employment, fostering innovation and attracting digital talent to our territory".

The minister also emphasised collaboration and the creation of an innovative system. "We want this Digital Innovation Hub not only to be a work place, but to constitute an ecosystem in which innovation and technology coexist, bringing all this knowledge to companies, to research and to the public so that it translates into tangible benefits for the whole of Navarra", he said.

Afterwards, the coordinator of the Digital Innovation Hub, IRIS, Ion Arrizabalaga, gave way to the awards ceremony, while the gala was closed by the Regional Minister Irujo, who stressed that "these awards highlight the commitment of the administration to digital transformation in Navarra's society". "Today we recognise the efforts made by the award-winning companies and organisations. We are convinced that this is the way forward, to promote those entities that, through innovation and the use of technologies, improve their competitiveness, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability. This is our present, this is our future", he added.

The jury of the IRIS Awards for Digitalisation, which was made up of professionals belonging to IRIS Governing Committee members such as ADItech, AIN, Animsa, CEIN, NASERTIC, SODENA, TRACASA and the Government of Navarra, assessed all the candidatures received for the five categories proposed, awarding prizes to the following companies and entities:

  5. Digitisation of the Third Sector: ONCE NAVARRA. About the Digital Innovation Hub, IRIS

The Digital Innovation Hub of Navarra, IRIS, concentrates all the knowledge of the region and accompanies companies in their digital transformation processes. IRIS places special emphasis on SMEs, micro-SMEs and self-employment, as well as technology centres, universities and public entities. Therefore, the Hub is a key tool in the process of digitalisation of the business fabric of Navarra, through the acceleration of the technological transformation of companies. In addition, IRIS has been recognised by the European Commission to form part of the first network of EDIHs (European Digital Innovation Hubs).

IRIS acts as a catalyst and one-stop shop, offering more than 100 services of all kinds to companies, public administrations and citizens who demand them, accompanying them at all times in the process and managing the necessary procedures for the arrangement of services if necessary.

IRIS also focuses its efforts on positioning Navarra as a benchmark in 5 areas of technological specialisation (personalised medicine and advanced therapies, cybersecurity, AI and data science, secure and intelligent connected elements and biotechnology and synthetic biology). To this end, it focuses its activity and frames its actions in the development of the strategic sectors set out in the S4 Smart Specialisation Strategy for Navarra.

Furthermore, the Digital Innovation Hub of Navarra is a meeting point, a training centre and a place to bring digitalisation closer to society, raising awareness among citizens with a view to advancing towards a Digital Society with the aim of improving the quality of life in the region of Navarra.

Lastly, the Hub strengthens existing collaboration mechanisms with public administrations with the aim of promoting the generation of value and favouring existing synergies between the Hub and Navarra's administrations, both from a social and economic perspective.
