The National Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) celebrates the progress achieved in the implementation of the Support Plan for Digital Innovation Hubs (PADIH), which to date has allowed the development of 892 files with a total investment of almost 23 million euros, based on a thorough analysis of the projects implemented with funding from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism through the School of Industrial Organisation, where the total allocated budget has been used.

The technological analysis of the projects executed reveals that 45.88% of them have been focused on Artificial Intelligence, while 27.63% have addressed Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics. These technologies represent 73.5% of the projects funded, reflecting the growing commitment to digitalisation and automation in the Spanish business fabric, specifically in Spanish SMEs.

From a sectoral point of view, 34.88% of the projects have benefited SMEs in the Manufacturing Industry, followed by Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities (12.75%). Together, these sectors accounted for 47.63% of the projects, underlining the importance of the PADIH in promoting the digital transformation of SMEs, key players in driving the Spanish economy.

These results show the positive impact of the PADIH on the competitiveness of companies, facilitating their adaptation to new market challenges and improving their efficiency through the integration of advanced technologies. "The adoption of Artificial Intelligence, robotics and advanced manufacturing is enabling companies to optimise their production processes and develop new, more sustainable and resilient business models", according to EDIH NETWORK SPAIN.

The role of the Spanish Digital Innovation Hubs has been key to the successful implementation of these projects, acting as reference centres for business digitalisation. Thanks to their advice and technological support, many SMEs have been able to access knowledge and tools that would otherwise have been out of their reach, thus promoting the democratisation of digital transformation.

The National Network of EDIHs reaffirms its commitment to innovation and the development of advanced technological solutions, and stresses the need to receive the necessary support from the Central Government in order to continue promoting subsidised access for companies to the opportunities offered by EDIHs.
