GENOME SEQUENCING LABORATORY
Go to the formEquipment description
Mass sequencing has revolutionised biology and medicine, enabling an in-depth understanding of the human genome, the microbiome and an enormous variety of organisms.
At IRIS LAB, we offer companies, research centres and universities a genomic sequencing laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate everything from advanced diagnostics to cutting-edge research in biotechnology, health, food and the environment.
This infrastructure, integrated into the IRIS Hub 's Synthetic Biology Laboratory, allows for complete genomic, transcriptomic and metagenomic analyses, using both long-read and high-precision technologies, offering a comprehensive solution for everything from sample preparation to bioinformatic analysis.
Equipment keys
- Sequencing DNA and RNA from any organism (human, animal, plant, microbial).
- Performing gene expression studies (RNA-seq).
- Analysing the microbiome or microbial communities (metagenomics).
- Detecting genetic variants, mutations or biomarkers.
- Performing genetic quality analysis on biological or food samples.
- Validating new developments in biotechnology or personalised medicine.
The laboratory offers access to latest-generation sequencers without requiring any investment from the user, which considerably reduces the barriers to entry for this type of advanced technology. In addition, it allows to combine different technological approaches, such as high-precision short reads (Illumina) and long reads (Nanopore), adapting to the needs of each project.
Users can opt for a comprehensive service with expert support or, if they have sufficient training, work in self-service mode. The technical team provides personalised advice and bioinformatics support, ensuring that analyses are carried out efficiently and rigorously. All this translates into fast, reliable, and fully traceable results.
It can be used by SMEs, research centres, universities, hospitals, agri-food companies, technology centres and public administrations. It is also suitable for start-ups and research groups that need to validate hypotheses or develop products based on genomic data.
The laboratory offers several usage models: from turnkey services (complete analysis from sample to results) to self-service use by qualified personnel. The platforms available include:
- Illumina NovaSeq X Plus (high capacity and accuracy).
- Illumina MiSeq i100 and iSeq100 (rapid and targeted assays).
- Oxford Nanopore Promethion (long reads, metagenomics).
- Hamilton STAR NGS robot manipulator (library automation).
- Agilent Tapestation, Qubit, ultrasonicator, DRAGEN servers for quality analysis and control.
The cost varies depending on the type of analysis, samples and depth required. We offer competitive prices, tailored to each user profile (companies, public institutions, etc.). Contact us for specific conditions.

Maintenance and revision of the equipment
Nasertic's professionals, with the support of the equipment manufacturers, are responsible for carrying out regular preventive and corrective maintenance and servicing to detect and correct any minor faults that may arise.
What if there are problems?
The person receiving the equipment is responsible for any problems with or damage to the equipment. Therefore, they must report these as soon as possible and bear any repair costs.
Do I need training to use this equipment?
