On 25 and 26 February, IRIS EDIH attended the IV National Meeting of the EDIH network, held in Santiago de Compostela. This meeting was organised by DIHGIGAL, Digital Innovation Hub Industrial de Galicia and AsDIH, Asturias Digital Innovation Hub, both part of the European network of digital innovation hubs, driving technological transformation in their respective regions.

The IV Meeting of the national network of EDIHs has focused on the next call for European Digital Innovation Centres, scheduled for April.

Specifically, during the conference held on the 26th, success stories on food quality and safety 4.0 were presented by María José Sáiz from CNTA and examples of good practices in collaboration on access to funding were presented by Graciela Garrido from ECONET, both partner entities.

This year, a joint agreement has been formed between 22 digital innovation centres in the agri-food sector. In this context, food quality and safety 4.0 has taken a step forward in improving food quality. Among many advantages, this technology helps to predict the shelf life of food to avoid food waste and determines the best time to harvest based on real-time data.
