BIOTECHNOLOGY LABORATORY
Go to the formEquipment description
The development of new drugs, vaccines or therapeutic proteins increasingly requires versatile and efficient technology platforms that integrate everything from genetic manipulation to production under controlled conditions.
The IRIS LAB Biotechnology Laboratory offers this environment, providing companies, research centres and universities with advanced infrastructure to drive innovation in health, food and sustainability.
This laboratory can carry out complete bio-manufacturing processes, from DNA synthesis to the cultivation of genetically modified cells and microorganisms, facilitating the production of high value-added products such as drugs, vaccines, recombinant proteins and functional biomolecules.
Notable equipment:
• DNA Script Syntax: enzymatic synthesis of DNA oligos.
• Sartorius Ambr 250 bioreactor: protein production in cell cultures.
• CytoFLEX SRT cytometer: cell analysis and sorting.
• Biomek i7 robot: automated pipetting and fluid handling.
• TECAN Spark multimode reader: microplate analysis.
• Sorvall Lynx 6000 centrifuge, Lyo-Quest freeze dryer, ÄKTA filters, etc.
Equipment keys
- Enzymatic design and synthesis of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA).
- Cloning genes and optimising their expression in cell systems.
- Cultivating human, animal, plant and bacterial cells under controlled conditions.
- Producing therapeutic proteins or monoclonal antibodies.
- Developing new vaccines or diagnostic platforms.
- Carrying out biomolecule purification and validation processes.
- Automating laboratory tasks using liquid robotics.
The laboratory offers access to equipment that is unique in Navarra for the production and analysis of biomolecules without the need for investment. It allows you to work with cell cultures, carry out fermentations, develop drugs or vaccines and automate processes thanks to the use of technologies such as the DNA Script enzyme synthesiser, the Ambr 250 bioreactor and the Beckman Biomek robot manipulator. In addition, we provide expert support, tailor-made services and self-service options for qualified users.
It is designed for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, healthcare start-ups, universities, technology centres, clinical researchers, agri-food entities and any actor wishing to develop innovative products using advanced biological processes.
The services can be provided in three ways:
- Turnkey service: IRIS LAB carries out the entire process, from the sample to the final product or result.
- Self-service: for trained users, with reservation of equipment such as the thermocycler, liquid robot or filtration system.
- Collaboration in R&D&I projects, in consortia or with public or private funding.
The cost depends on the type of project, the type of use and the equipment involved. We offer:
- Rates per service or per sample.
- Time-based rental for self-service users.
- Special prices according to user profile (SMEs, public institutions, etc.)

Maintenance and revision of the equipment
Nasertic's professionals, with the support of the equipment manufacturers, are responsible for carrying out regular preventive and corrective maintenance and servicing to detect and correct any minor faults that may arise.
What if there are problems?
The person receiving the equipment is responsible for any problems with or damage to the equipment. Therefore, they must report these as soon as possible and bear any repair costs.
Do I need training to use this equipment?
Yes. The laboratory has qualified technical staff who provide specific training on how to use each piece of equipment safely and effectively. This is an essential requirement for self-service use.
